Today Nic and I went up Little Cottonwood and went snowboarding in the backcountry. I had so much fun. I haven't been snowboarding for over a year. Nic took me somewhere pretty mellow so I could handle the hike. I definetly felt like I earned my turns. It was a great day. Casey and Lily had a great time and Papa and Bebe's house. Thank you Mom and Dad!

So Happy Together....

I know, I know, I can't believe it's been 6 months since my last post. I'm pathetic. I feel like since I started back to work I haven't been myself lately. I absolutely love being a mom and I love being a teacher. But I have to be honest... It sure is hard to be a working mom. Lily was sick this week with a high fever so Nic and I had to figure out how one of us could stay home with her. I had to go to work and I was feeling sooo guilty. I felt like a horrible mom. I had a horrible week at work because I just wanted to be home with my kids. Now that it is the weekend I know I can face another week at work. I wish I could be home with my kids but I know that if I didn't work I would miss being a teacher. O.K., sorry I went off on that little tangent. I was just trying to explain why I haven't been able to post. When I get home from work I am so busy with the kids and then by 9:00 I am fast asleep. Now that Lily is getting a little more independent I feel like I can do my own things a little more. This week I looked at everyone's blog's and it made me so happy. I realized I need to keep my blog updated because just looking at your blog's made me feel so good. I love you all so much!
Well, I didn't intend to go off like that. I wanted to share some of the cute pictures of Casey and Lily together. Lily is now crawling and she loves her big brother so much. I can't believe she will be one year next month. Casey is such a good big brother. He is so funny. He always wants to be naked. The second he walks in the door when he gets home from day care he starts stripping down to his diaper. I can't blame him. I admit that the second I get in the door I change into my pajamas.

Going on a moose search....

Casey and I went on a moose search up Little Cottonwood. Casey's enthusiasm and curiosity was inspiring to say the least. While we saw lot's of deer and enjoyed the beautiful wild flowers in bloom we did not see a moose. It was hard to get Casey to leave he was having so much fun. I am excited for Casey to gain a few years so I can start teaching him the way of the mountains. By the time we left it was cold, a nice relief from the 100+ heat we have been having as of late. We were able to catch the sunset on the way down which was enhanced a bit by some of the smoke still remaining in the valley. Stay tuned for the mountain goat search.(This post was done by Nic, guys can blog too you know)

Look who's blogging now!

I have now entered the blog zone- You all have inspired me to create a blog (it also helped to have Melissa take me through the process step by step. Thank you Melissa!) I have a feeling that I will have a few late nights due to excessive blogging.
We have had so much fun this summer. We have enjoyed going to the Zoo, the Children's Garden, the Aquarium, swimming, going up to the mountains, etc.. We have especially enjoyed relaxing and hanging out with friends and family this summer. Now that Nic is finished with his master's program(Yay Nic!) he can finally relax. We have love having breakfast on our deck and watching Casey explore in the yard. Lily always wakes up with a big smile. I am really going to miss the morning time with the family when we go back to work. :(
Casey is so funny lately. Nic and I are no longer "mama" and "dada", he calls us "Nic" and "Shell". I thought that was something only weird intellectual teenagers do. Many of you may have seen Casey wearing his Mr. Potato head glasses. He loves them. He is so serious when he wears them. He looks like a little old man. He is also always wearing different gloves and now he is obsessed with wearing his snowboots all the time. He sure is a funny kid!
Lily loves her brother. No one can get her to laugh like she does with Casey. She is always smiling at him. I hope they will always be good friends. She is such a little sweetheart. She is rolling all over the place now. I am trying to savor all her little milestones because I don't want her to grow up too fast. Before I know it she will be wearing Mr. Potato head glassed and snowboots in August!
